![]() Tasting the first cup of Bourbon Coffee in Cambridge, Massachusetts Today, served as another momentous day for Bourbon Coffee as it officially launched the location in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The holiday festivities pooled with the aroma of the coffee made the occasion celebratory. This was an auspicious occasion welcoming the Rwandan Diaspora as well as Friends of Rwanda from Massachusetts and other nearby states. Many attended this memorable event; the place was bustling, and the smell of coffee was intoxicating. ![]() The Honorary Consul General for Rwanda, Mr. Bobby Sager welcomed the invited guests and delivered an opening speech. In his remarks, Mr. Sager highlighted the accelerated growth of Rwanda and its thrilling achievements over the past few years. He also added that Bourbon is more than a place to have Coffee but rather a place to come and share the warmth and spirit of reconciliation and ingenuity as evidenced by Rwanda today. Mr. Joseph Moore, the President of Lesley University also delivered a speech and noted on his excitement for Bourbon Coffee to part of their community at large. He welcomed the opportunity of the University to open its doors for Rwandan’s and its friends over the coming years and stressed the commonality of shared values between the University and Bourbon Coffee. Guests were delighted to see the store’s décor and accessories which seemingly transported them back to a place where they can visualize farmers planting, cultivating and harvesting their crops. They were entertained by a troupe of young Rwandan dancers who showcased the dance and culture of Rwanda. As Guests departed, they promised to return for a second cup and many more. Bourbon Coffee was encouraged in seeing Rwandans and their many friends lending support to the store. As the business model is built on Rwanda’s vision of taking ownership of their own destiny, the Bourbon US team is thankful for the commitment and collaborative efforts of the investors and guidance in making this important project a reality. |
